LIUNA brings industry-leading training to North Dakota

The Laborers International Union of North America has one of the nation’s leading apprenticeship and journeyman training programs in the construction industry. Dozens of specialized programs are provided free to members of Laborers Local 563 in North Dakota.

Members attend the Laborers Training Center year-round and are also provided eight to 10 week-long training sessions in North Dakota. Classes ranging from OSHA 30 to blueprint reading and pipe-laying training classes have already been held in the state to provide members a higher degree of expertise.

Safety is a top priority for members intent on beginning a construction career. The Laborers Union want members to be better prepared to anticipate safety concerns and handle emergency situations.

“In light of North Dakota ranking highest in work-related deaths per capita, we have focused our efforts to make sure more members complete safety training classes,” said North Dakota Business Agent Cory Bryson. “We take pride in our skills, knowledge and efforts on the job site and want to be known as the safest workforce in the state.”

LIUNA has been an integral part of North Dakota’s construction industry for more than 50 years – providing workforce for contractors working in energy, highway, heavy, industrial, and commercial construction.
